Cassandra Peterson – 69 Years Old

Cassandra Peterson is most known for her performance as Elvira in Elvira’s Movie Macabre on television. She wore a black gown and wig and spoke in a Californian “valley girl” tone while portraying the character. Her character quickly became a household name, and she went on to reprise her part in other television shows.

Peterson has dreamed of a career in show business since she was a child. She persuaded her parents to sign a contract to work as a showgirl in Viva Les Girls at The Dunes in Las Vegas when she was 17 years old. Later on, she briefly appeared as a showgirl in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. She became friends with Elvis Presley, who pushed her to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Peterson traveled to Italy in the 1970s, following his suggestion, to become the lead singer of the Italian rock band Latins 80 and The Snails. She continued to pile up her career investments and hosted her reality TV show, The Search for the New Elvira, later in her career.
